Why we collect information

We collect information about advertisers primarily to process your order and to provide you with secure facilities to allow you to amend or review your advert. The information also allows us to provide a standard means of contact between you and potential buyers, ie. your telephone number and email address.

For users of the email alert service we collect data again to provide a standard contact mechanism between you and new advertisers and provide you with a secure mechanism to amend or review your alert details.

Information security

The Credit / Debit Card payment system uses the latest methods to ensure that you have peace of mind when using your credit card over the Internet. The payment gateway, WorldPay, is used to perform authorisation and settlement with the banks.

WorldPay clears card transactions in seconds and cardholder accounts are directly debited. World Pay is one of the most popular and longest standing Internet payment solutions in the UK.

World Pay security features include:

All communications are encrypted using SSL technology
Only you and the acquiring bank ever know the full credit card number.
The service has separate servers for data collection and storage
Both are protected from attacks by a number of firewalls.
All personal information is held on an encrypted database.

Unsolicited e-mail

We send email to registered advertisers to inform them that an advert is due to expire and to those who have registered for an email alert when a suitable product is advertised.

We may occasionally send email to registered users to inform you of new or additional services within the system. If you would prefer not to receive these emails then please click here to remove yourself from the list.

We will not sell or pass your details to any other organisation.

The information we collect

We collect information about you only at the point that you complete the online registration form or pay for an advert. The information we collect is:

Your name and business name (if appropriate)
Your postal address
Your telephone number
Your email address

We do not collect any further sensitive personal information about you and will not in the future without your explicit consent.

Your credit card details are collected by World Pay and held in an encrypted form for a short period to ensure the transaction is completed, after this they are deleted.
